Reiki Level IV
Karuna Ki is Compassionate Reiki Heart
The basic principal of Karuna Ki is the connection to (and becoming) the embodiment of compassion both for healing the self and to send healing and compassion to all creation. Karuna Ki is offered as a healing Art and Spiritual practice. It’s founder is Vincent Amador.
“I acknowledge that meditation & practice of any energy system or art
has the effect of increasing your capacity to handle energy
as well as your own personal vibration.” – Vincent Amador
You will notice that Karuna Ki is not associated with any other “Karuna” group (even through it may contain the same symbols and energy) because each master has legally trademarked the name for their personal, financial or business reasons.
Just like our Reiki founder, Makao Usui (August 15, 1865 to March 9, 1926) made Reiki available to everyone so is Karuna Ki. Because Reiki has spread so fast and was known by many, not one Reiki Master was able to tradmark the individual name Reiki, even through several tried. So it is with Karuna Ki, even though Vincent Amador has trademarked Karuna Ki, he had given permission for everyone to share it and the materials.

The energy of Karuna Ki Reiki is one of Compassion
The Avatar of Karuna Ki is the Goddess of Compassion, Mercy and Patience, called Quan Yin in the Buddhist religion, the Virgin Mary, Christian religion, and the Goddess Tara of the Tibetan & Mongolian religions.
Student’s Question: Can you explain to me how there are symbols that do not originate from the traditional Japanese Reiki?
Nicole Newsom James: Yes, I believe this response will help give you clarity:
1) Reiki is a word used to describe Universal Life Force energy*, which has been around since the beginning.
2) What some people forget is that Reiki is also the name chosen for the System of Teaching that Japanese Master Sense, Mikao Usui, developed out of his enlightened experience of receiving access to the energy.
The original symbols for Reiki have been traced back, before Mikao Usui’s time, to a combination of Japanese Kanji fonts originating in the Chinese hànzì, Tibetan abugida & Sanskrit language. Sanskrit can trace its linguistic ancestry back to Proto-Indo-Iranian and Proto-Indo-European.
So the English word Reiki is understood to represent both:
1) Universal Life Force [“the force”]- which every religion uses in its teachings; and
2) A System of Teaching how to access and use the Universal Life Force
As people work with Reiki [both the system and “the force”, their energies blend, out of that blending the energy ascends and ancient symbols are accessed within the individual which represent that person’s current energetic vibration.
*Avatar – [Hinduism] – a manifestation of a deity or released soul in bodily form on earth; an incarnate divine teacher; [Sanskrit] which means “descent”, an avatar refers to the human incarnation of God during times of distress on earth.
**We are each filled with universal life force energy. This energy is the essence of our being, our consciousness, our soul. As the flow of life force energy moves through our physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies, it can become unbalanced, stagnant, or blocked.
